The FARO Arm is a widely recognized standard in portable coordinate metrology, offering users the flexibility to perform precise 3D measurements right on the shop floor. The 5 ft reach variant balances accessibility and reach for small-to-medium assemblies—perfect for aerospace applications where control and portability are crucial. Articulated with 6 or 7 rotational axes, it uses embedded rotary encoders to calculate the exact 3D position of its probe head. This enables operators to perform applications such as in-process inspection, assembly alignment, reverse engineering, and CAD validation with high accuracy. These systems typically comply with international standards like ISO 10360-12 for consistent measurement reliability.
