Joyun Zircon Sand is a premium-grade industrial mineral, primarily composed of zirconium silicate (ZrSiO₄) with ~66 % zirconium dioxide. With a high melting point of up to ~2,750 °C, it exhibits chemical inertness, excellent thermal stability, low expansion, and hardness around Mohs 7–8. This makes it ideal for demanding industrial applications, including ceramic glazes and sanitaryware, refractory brick linings, glass furnace bricks, and precision foundry molds.
In foundries, it’s valued for its non-wetting properties and fine surface finish in metal castings. Milled to zircon flour, it further enhances casting precision and surface smoothness. Additionally, zircon sand serves as a source material for zirconium chemicals, nuclear-reactor cladding, abrasion-resistant media, and advanced ceramics such as fuel cell components and medical-grade oxides. Sourced from mineral sand reserves, it's available in various mesh sizes and packaging tailored for industrial processes.
