Bruker's BioSpec 7T MRI and Ultima 2Pplus multiphoton microscope played pivotal roles in a pioneering study where Stanford researchers transplanted human cortical organoids into the rat somatosensory cortex. These advanced imaging systems allowed for high-resolution, in vivo monitoring of the integration and maturation of human neurons within a rodent brain. The research demonstrated that the transplanted human cells fully integrated into the rat nervous system, establishing functional connections and exhibiting sensory responses.
