The KUS-FS UAV is a domestically engineered strategic drone comparable to the U.S. MQ-9 Reaper. Development began in 2008, with testing completed by March 2022 and mass production initiated in early 2024. It boasts a 13 m length, 25 m wingspan, 1,200 hp turboprop engine, and a maximum takeoff weight near 5,750 kg. Capable of operating above 13,700 m with endurance over 24 hours, the KUS-FS carries EO/IR sensors, X-band SAR, and offers mission capabilities for ISR, electronic warfare, communications relay, and weapon delivery via four underwing hardpoints. Frequent imaging demonstrations have demonstrated its precision—identifying objects up to 130 km away.
