The T-50 Golden Eagle family, developed by Korea Aerospace Industries in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, represents South Korea’s first foray into indigenous supersonic jet production. The T-50 advanced trainer delivers performance and agility at speeds up to Mach 1.5, essential for next-gen fighter pilot training
The TA-50 variant adds radar, fire-control systems (EL/M-2032), and weapon systems for light combat missions and tactical lead-in training
The FA-50, the combat-optimized variant, includes expanded avionics, increased internal fuel, and weapons options (including JDAMs, air-to-air and ground missiles). Block 20 upgrades further add in-flight refueling, conformal fuel tanks, and advanced radar capabilities
As one of the few supersonic trainers globally, the T-50 family allows seamless transition for pilots into frontline fighters. It’s deployed across multiple air forces worldwide—including Indonesia, Iraq, the Philippines, Thailand, Poland, and Malaysia—and supports combat roles in addition to training.
