“The Multi-Purpose Unmanned Ground Vehicle—based on Hyundai Rotem’s HR-Sherpa UGV—is a compact, all-terrain electric platform (~2 t) equipped with independent in-wheel drives and airless tires. Featuring autonomous, remote, and leader-follower modes, it supports missions like reconnaissance, supply resupply, casualty evacuation, surveillance, and force protection. Configurable with payloads such as RCWS, cargo modules, and CBR sensors, it offers ~6 h endurance at 5 km/h and up to 40 km/h on roads. Delivered in 2021 to the ROK Army after trials along the DMZ, it represents South Korea’s first deployed unmanned military ground vehicle.”
