The DT30/DT50 Dual Detection Tape from SMTEK is a polymer sensor tape designed to detect leaks of both acids (e.g. hydrochloric, nitric, sulfuric, hydrofluoric, phosphoric, acetic acids) and alkalis (e.g. sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide). The tape comes in two sizes — 30 mm×30 m (DT30) and 50 mm×30 m (DT50). It changes color immediately when exposed to corrosive liquids at concentrations above ~0.1%, enabling visual warning of leaks. The adhesive backing adheres well to SUS 304 stainless steel with strength exceeding 1800 g/in. Custom sizes are also available. Ideal for industrial safety, chemical plants, storage areas, and anywhere leaks of strong acids or bases pose a risk.
