The KUS-VH (Korean Unmanned System – Vertical Helicopter) is an unmanned version of the MD 500 “Little Bird” light-attack helicopter, developed by Korean Air with Boeing support. First flown optionally piloted in 2016 and fully unmanned by 2019, it can operate continuously for up to six hours with a payload capacity of 440 kg. The system includes a flight control computer, tactical navigation systems, propulsion control, and electro-mechanical rotor actuators. Engineered for both day and night strike and reconnaissance missions, the platform has been considered in multiple roles—including manned-unmanned teaming with manned AH-64E Apaches.
